In Elliot Eli Jackson’s world, God is none of this, but rather God is us, all Diane. His inspiring story describes a personal transformation that brought him from the pit of despair as a heroin addict into an enlightened New Age teacher who tells it like it is. The introduction and preface are written in the first person: “I was a mess. I cheated on my wife and neglected my children.” But in chapter one and for the rest of the book, the narrative is expressed from the point of view of “we” or “us,” and is what emerged from his transformed consciousness after his awakening in 2007. “Know that whenever any of you speak or act with your highest good in mind or the highest good of others, it is US. Whenever any of you inspire others or yourself, it is US.” The author’s perspective is from a position of knowing everything there is to know about everything. At first, the reader may scoff and wonder, Who does this guy think he is? But, after a while, if one reads with an open mind, it may become apparent that Jackson is telling us about the nature of reality the way it really is, which is, to say, beyond what traditional religion or science tells us. In this view, each and every one is part of the overall consciousness that we may call God. Jackson has somehow gotten in touch with this collective consciousness and thereby informs us that there is no hell or heaven. There is no death as we have been taught to believe. “Remember, you are part of the All that is eternal and everlasting,” he writes. Jackson channels information about sickness and the tools to good health. He discusses abortion, sex, love, money, the power of the human brain, and the cause of the recent financial crisis. “If you spend more time raising your personal vibration, you would not have to bail out anyone or anything.” Several chapters are devoted to explaining what can be found in the spiritual realms. These include angels, and fallen angels, which are very relevant to our present condition and vibrational levels. This explanation is clarified by a history of the earth, which mentions past societies that have disappeared, a pattern we are in danger of repeating if we don’t collectively find the right path forward. From God to You, Absolute Truth has plenty of practical advice. One item for your spiritual well-being is to let go of unnecessary attachments. “Holding on to yesterday’s memories causes unfulfilled todays and tomorrows.” However, this does not mean you shouldn't go after financial security. And he offers some esoteric guidelines for attracting wealth. The author warns about getting trapped by erroneous information and misconceptions and following the path of least resistance. The last chapter is a Q & A, which is wide ranging, to the point, and sometimes amusing. What puts this book in the New Age category is the often unrestrained criticism of traditional religious concepts and the presentation of the more realistic alternatives. For example, in the Q & A, one asks, “What is sin?” Jackson (or God) responds, “Something made up in the mind of man.” Or in another question, “Why would there be only one chosen people?” Answer, “Ha, Ha!” |
